About

Sarah

Hi there! My name is Sarah and I’m addicted to golf. I started playing golf as a kid, but didn’t get serious about it until after college.  In 2015, I decided that I was going to be a scratch golfer and I’m still striving FORE that goal. This blog is about my golfing adventures and what I’ve learned along the way. I’m not a teaching professional. Golf is not my day job. I’m just like you and I hope to inspire you to lower your handicap and have more fun!

A little bit more about me…

I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband, our daughter, and our 2 dachshunds.  I’m a working mom, an amateur photographer, a lover of books, fitness, and Italian red wine.

Golfing highs and lows…

My proudest moment as a golfer was the 75 I shot as a pregnant momma!  Not only was I pregnant, I was 5 days past my due date! My lowest moment as a golfer was the huge 3rd place trophy I “earned” at a tournament I played in when I was 11 years old.  Only 3 girls entered the tournament, and that obnoxious thing sat in the house for years, reminding me of my last place finish!

Why I love golf…

Where do I even begin?! When I’m playing golf, I forget about everything else.  No other endeavor requires as much creativity, focus, and presence of mind.  I love how I can play the same course 500 times, but it’s always different.  Different lies, different pin placements, different conditions, and different people.  I love the quiet solitude of standing on the 12th tee at my home course while the sun is setting on a warm summer evening.  Most of all, I love how you can never win at golf.  Golf always wins.
